Fortunately, most owners find that their pets enthusiastically adapt to the natural raw diet. Many pets even seem to ask their owners, "OK, why did it take you so long to figure this out?". Occasionally though, some pets are a little obstinate in making the transition. First, we recommend getting several different varieties of product and trying each one to see if the pet will naturally take to one variety or the other. We have found that once they get accustomed to the texture of the new food they become more receptive to eating other varieties as well. The chicken, rabbit and rabbit-chicken blend are generally good varieties to start with as an introduction. If they display some reluctance to try the new food, the next step is to slowly introduce a small amount into their regular food. Over several days, slowly reduce the amount of their customary food and increase the amount of the raw product. This approach is almost always successful. Many pets will be stubborn and test your resolve. They will generally start eating the raw food if they get a little hungry. It is very important however, with cats especially, that you do not withhold food for too long. The slow and steady approach will eventually work. Remember, pets are like children. Given their choice they would prefer to eat Happy Meals every day. It's our responsibility to ensure they eat what's good for them, not just what they want.
